Building a Linked Dipole – A Fun Outdoor Project
Took advantage of the nice weather today and started a small project—building a linked dipole! ☀️
The one in the photo covers four bands: 15M, 17M, 20M, and 40M. Linked dipoles are a great way to get multi-band HF coverage without needing a tuner, and they’re relatively simple to build. The only downside? They take time! Measuring, cutting, crimping, and soldering all add up, but it’s a satisfying project.
I’m treating this one as a prototype, as I’d like to build a six-band version over the summer. Hopefully, this will give me a good idea of how it performs and what adjustments I might need to make.
Anyone else using a linked dipole? What bands have worked best for you?
