Experimenting with Alexa – DX Cluster Skill

I’ve been having some fun with Amazon Alexa, building a skill to access DX Spots from dxcluster.co.uk. It’s been an interesting project, and it’s great to be able to get real-time DX reports just by asking Alexa!

So far, I’ve got it pulling in spot data and reading out the latest activity, but I think she needs to learn the phonetic alphabet next! Right now, hearing Alexa attempt to pronounce callsigns is… amusing, to say the least. 😆

Next steps? I’ll be looking at ways to improve the way information is read out and maybe even adding filters for specific bands or modes.
